Where your money goes, what we charge, what the badges on a page mean, and how we look after what you tell us. Everything here is a rule the product is tested against.
Where money goes, and what we charge
Two things come out of every gift, and both are shown before you pay: a 3% platform fee and a processing fee of 2.9% + 30¢. On a $100 gift that is $3.00 and $3.20, and $93.80 reaches the page.
Both are calculated on the gift alone. A supporter may choose — never pre-selected — to add a tip on top; a tip goes to GivePanda and never changes what the page receives.
Every page on GivePanda carries the same fees, and a gift reaches the person the same way every time.
Every gift is recorded, and a page's total is only ever added to. Paying for treatment never reduces the total your people watched grow.
Badge: Identity verified
The organiser's identity was verified by an independent provider. It does not confirm the treatment or its cost.
Every verification is recorded, and it expires: a check from more than a year ago is not treated as a current fact.
Badge: Clinic-confirmed cost
The named clinic confirmed the treatment plan and its cost. It does not verify the organiser's identity.
Clinics confirm through a single-use, expiring link. The figure recorded is the one the clinic states, not the one the organiser entered — and the two badges are never merged into one “Verified” tick, because they attest different facts.
How we look after what you tell us
We never keep your identity documents — the verification provider does, and we keep only the decision. Photos you upload have the hidden location and device details removed before they are stored. Your page's data is kept separate from everyone else's, and that separation is tested on every change we make.
Card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
