Our journey to become parents was never simple or straightforward. For years, we fought relentlessly against infertility, undergoing grueling treatments, physical sacrifice, and emotional uncertainty. After years of disappointment, our prayers were answered when we welcomed our daughter, Annabelle.

Annabelle is our absolute miracle. She made me the mother I always dreamed of being and showed us just how much love our family has to give. But the day that brought us our greatest joy also brought our greatest heartbreak.

During Annabelle’s delivery, a sudden, life-threatening emergency struck. I nearly lost my life and had to be intubated, rushed into emergency surgery, and given a life-saving hysterectomy. Instead of holding my newborn daughter during her first twelve hours of life, moments I had dreamed of for years, I was fighting for survival in an ICU bed.

While we are blessed beyond measure that Annabelle is here and healthy, that trauma changed our future forever. The heartbreak today is knowing that while we deeply desire to expand our family, I physically can no longer carry a child.

Before Annabelle was born, we completed an IVF retrieval. Despite severe complications—including Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome (OHSS)—we were fortunate to create eight PGT-normal embryos that remain preserved today. Those eight embryos represent years of medical sacrifice, resilience, and hope.

Gestational surrogacy is not a path we ever expected to take, but it is the only safe option left for us to grow our family. Our favorite childhood memories all revolve around growing up with siblings, and Annabelle already talks about her future "baby" with so much excitement. We want nothing more than to give her that same gift: a lifelong bond, a companion, and a home full of shared laughter.

We approach gestational surrogacy with profound respect, transparency, and gratitude for the incredible woman who will help us bring our child into the world. Our commitment is to ensure she receives exceptional care and compassion every step of the way.

We have invested every ounce of our hearts, energy, and resources into building our family. However, the sheer financial reality of surrogacy—covering carrier compensation, medical care, insurance, and legal requirements—presents an obstacle unlike any we have faced before.

What stands between us and our next child is not a lack of readiness, willingness, or love. It is simply a financial barrier.
