Christine & Michelle's Journey to Motherhood
Organised by Christine Morris · November 4, 2026

My wife and I have dreamed of becoming mothers and building a family rooted in unconditional love, stability, and happiness. It is a dream we have poured our hearts, hopes, and financial resources into, and one we refuse to give up on.
When I was seven years old, I lost my mother. She was only 34. Losing her at such a young age shaped my understanding of life, love, and the importance of family in ways I am still discovering today. I grew up knowing what it felt like to miss a mother’s presence during life’s most important moments. As I’ve gotten older, that loss has given me an even deeper appreciation for the opportunity to become a mother myself.
I cannot change the childhood I experienced or bring back the moments I never got to share with my mom, but I can build a future filled with the love, reassurance, and memories I wish we could have shared. I dream of being there for every milestone, every ordinary afternoon, every celebration, and every difficult day. More than anything, I want our children to grow up knowing how deeply they are loved and how desperately they were wanted long before they existed.
My wife and I both hope to experience pregnancy and raise children who share a biological connection through the same donor. We have already committed approximately $9,000 toward making this dream possible, and despite unsuccessful attempts and the financial challenges of fertility treatment, our hope remains.
As a same-sex couple, our journey to parenthood begins with expenses and obstacles that many families never have to consider. We are willing to make sacrifices, and we already have, but receiving this grant would relieve some of that financial burden and bring us closer to the family we have worked so hard to create.
To us, this grant represents more than financial assistance. It represents the possibility of hearing our child’s heartbeat for the first time, holding a baby we have dreamed about for years, and creating a lifetime of memories together.
Thank you for considering our application and for helping families like ours have the opportunity to experience the extraordinary gift of parenthood.
How we'll use the funds: This grant would help us purchase additional donor sperm vials for future insemination attempts, allowing both my wife and me the opportunity to experience pregnancy using the same donor. Having children who share a biological connection through their donor is incredibly meaningful to us. Financial assistance would also allow us to pursue more effective fertility treatment options, including clinical IUI, while reducing the financial strain of continuing our journey.
