Amanda & Damian's IVF Journey

I am applying for this grant because becoming a mother has been one of the greatest blessings of my life, and I am hoping for the opportunity to experience it one more time.

I am the proud mother of three biological children, all of whom are now adults. But my journey as a mother didn’t stop there. For 15 years, I opened my home and my heart to eight different at-risk teenagers who had nowhere safe to go. I welcomed them, supported them, loved them, and did everything I could to give them the stability and sense of family they deserved. They may not have been born to me, but they were loved by me.

Motherhood has never been just about biology to me. It has always been about showing up, sacrificing, nurturing, protecting, and loving unconditionally.

Today, I have a dream of welcoming a biological child with my husband. At 44 years old, I am painfully aware that time is not on my side. With fertility challenges and the financial reality of IVF, the opportunity to make this dream come true feels increasingly out of reach. I know that every passing year matters, and I don’t want to look back knowing that financial circumstances prevented us from even having a chance.

I have spent so much of my life making room in my home and heart for children who needed someone to love them. Now, I am asking for help with the opportunity to welcome one more child into that love.

This grant would not simply fund fertility treatment. It would give us hope, give us a chance, and potentially make possible the greatest gift we could ask for: the opportunity to become parents together.

I cannot promise what the outcome of IVF will be, but I can promise that a child welcomed into our family would be surrounded by a lifetime of love.
